MSHS eFolio/ Culminating Project
We are currently working to develop a Web-Based eFolio System that will enable students to demonstrate their
mastery of the competencies that establish an education at Mount Si High School. This will be a vehicle for
students to plan, monitor and reflect upon their learning experiences. The completion and presentation of the
student eFolio will be part of the culminating project required by the state for the graduates of the year 2008.
Important Update
The culminating Project committee has made significant changes to the student expectations for the culminating project. Please review the revisions.

Reflection
Reflection is the most powerful learning experience of the eFolio process. We have built in two levels of reflection into the system.
Competency Reflection Questions
Reflection Pre-write
Lesson Idea
Artifact Reflection: Students will be asked to reflect on and then
explain how each of their artifacts demonstrates their understanding and ability
to execute the competency for which they align this artifact. Encourage students
to incorporate the "criterion" from the rubric into their reflection.
Competency Reflection: Each department developed a handful of reflection
questions and aligned them with each of their competencies. These questions
should be completed once a student has developed a body of artifacts that
clearly demonstrates a pattern of understanding. Think of them as the
culminating activity or final for a competency. These can be changed at any time
prior to finalizing the competency so it doesn't hurt if students start these
early.

Celebration Presentation
Part of the new Washington State graduation requirements is a culminating
project presentation. Our students will be expected to successfully present
three competencies in a 15 minute presentation. We are in research and design
process for the development of our "Celebration Presentations". The following
